PROJECTS:

The devastation left by the recent earthquake
in Haiti has received worldwide attention.
The people of Haiti are facing enormous challenges, including a lack of food, clean water, and medical supplies.  The C-CHANGE for Haiti Foundation is determined to help
meet those urgent needs.

MEDICAL SUPPLIES:

The C-CHANGE for Haiti Foundation also wants to procure medical supplies and equipment for the health care providers already on-site in Haiti.  Some members of the Foundation have already begun to address the medical needs of Haitians after the earthquake. Dr. Evans Crevecoeur, Chair of this organization, went to Haiti from January 18th to January 26th, 2010, in order to provide much needed care. He, along with other Haitian doctors and nurses, administered aid to over 1,500 patients within a nine-day period. Most of the aid was provided in the form of limb amputations in order to stop the spread of infections.  Without such amputations, many more Haitians would have lost their lives.   Dr. Evans Crevecoeur wants to provide two physicians per week to a group of doctors in Haiti, called AIME HAITI, who lack supplies and manpower.  AIME HAITI is located in Port-au-Prince and the facility is in Bojeux Park.  The director, Jean Henry, is in daily communication with Dr. Crevecoeur.

Additionally, Dr. Edwidge Crevecoeur-Bryant, Secretary and Mrs. Mireille Crevecoeur, Trustee, organized two major fundraising efforts in Florida and Pennsylvania, respectively, for the purpose of collecting and sending medical supplies to Haiti. The supplies were sent with Dr. Evans Crevecoeur to ensure the receipt and immediate usage of the supplies.  Among the many supplies sent were:  I.V. Starters (tubes), lactated ringers, bottles of alcohol, bandages, gauze, disposable gloves, masks, sanitizing hand wipes, and bottles of Tylenol, Advil, and other over-the-counter pain medications. Such fundraising efforts will continue. With so many Haitians left injured, there is a constant need for medical supplies. Basic supplies such as bandages, tape, soap, alcohol, sutures and surgical instruments are invaluable.  Anesthetics, antibiotics, and analgesics are also greatly needed.  Therefore, the C-CHANGE for Haiti Foundation is seeking both monetary donations and direct donations of supplies.
