WATER:
Unsafe drinking water is a severe problem that Haitians in Leogane are facing. The lack of clean water thus leaves them vulnerable to water-borne diseases. The C-CHANGE for Haiti Foundation is working to provide safe drinking water. C-CHANGE would like to raise $150,000 to $200,000 in order to attain this goal, and is meeting with both manufacturers of water purification/filtration systems and with local Haitian leaders.
The Systems that are being evaluated so far are as follows:
System 1 – Centralized purification system; able to purify 30,000 gallons of water per day and is diesel powered.
System 2 – Centralized purification system; able to purify 30,000 gallons of water per day and is solar powered.
System 3 – Individualized filtration system; able to filter 10 gallons of water every 12 hours. No power required.
